Oscar Charro

Co-Founder & Managing Director

Oscar Charro has more than 20 years of experience in renewable energy engineering, manufacturing, project development, investment and technical advisory. He co-founded KRD in Poland in 2011, following an early career in renewable energy engineering and the development and management of industrial-scale solar cell and module manufacturing at Pevafersa in Spain.

He subsequently established DNV’s Solar PV activity in Poland, serving as Technical Lead on due diligence assignments covering more than 2.5 GW of projects across Poland and neighbouring markets. During this period, he also worked as Senior Business Development Consultant EMEA at Canadian Solar, contributing to the origination, acquisition and negotiation of transactions involving more than 1 GW of Solar PV projects in Poland.

Oscar later served as interim Director Solar and Storage Europe at RWE Renewables, overseeing activities across multiple European markets and contributing to the development and investment approval of utility-scale Solar PV and energy storage portfolios.

At KRD, Oscar combines technical, transactional and development expertise to advise investors, lenders and developers on Solar PV, BESS and Wind projects, with particular emphasis on technical due diligence, project bankability, M&A and the Polish and Central European energy markets.

He is also an expert at the PSME Competence Centre, contributing practical industry experience in energy storage, battery technologies and Poland’s energy transition.

Sergio Cardamas

Co-Founder & Board Member

Sergio Cardamas has more than 20 years of experience in renewable energy, combining business leadership, industrial and commercial expertise with technical advisory, investment assessment and international energy innovation.

He co-founded KRD in Poland in 2011 after working at Pevafersa in Spain, where he was responsible for procurement and cost control for the company’s solar cell and module manufacturing facilities. His subsequent experience includes coordinating solar module manufacturing with Polish manufacturers and managing procurement assignments for SunEdison and Solarplicity in the UK.

Since KRD’s establishment, Sergio has played a central role in managing and developing the company, overseeing business operations, client relationships, commercial strategy and the delivery of renewable energy advisory assignments. His involvement spans Technical Due Diligence and Lender’s Technical Advisory (LTA), supporting investors, lenders and developers in assessing project bankability, technical and commercial risks, CAPEX and OPEX assumptions, contractual exposure and the technical foundations of investment and financing decisions.

His experience also extends to international renewable energy innovation, including publicly funded programmes involving energy storage, microgrids and grid stabilisation. This broader perspective complements his work at KRD, particularly in assessing emerging technologies and their technical and commercial viability.

He holds a Business degree and an MBA and has participated twice in the Ignite programme at Cambridge Judge Business School.
